The Life of Silah

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God's will that the Office of the Auditor-General (OAG) announces the passing on of Silah Otieno Ogutu Agwaro, which occurred on 16 July, 2026.

He was the son of Mr. Gabriel Agwaro Ogutu and Mama Grace Ayieko Ogutu. He was a beloved husband of Syprine Akinyi Otieno and a loving father of Gerald Omondi, Joshua Biden, John Mark, Jeff Adrain and Stacy Martha (Nyarota). Brother of the late Mary Goretty Agwaro, the late Maurice Odhiambo Agwaro, Cyrilla Auma Agwaro, Andrew Ogutu Agwaro, Esther Akinyi Ogutu, Eng. Paul Agwaro and Anne Atieno Agwaro. Family and friends are meeting daily at his rural home in Ndhiwa, Kanyamwa Kayambo next to Nyamanga Primary School every evening for prayers and funeral arrangements.
The cortege will leave Avenue Hospital Mortuary (Kisumu) on 30 July, 2026 at

10.00 a.m. The funeral service will be held at his home on 31 July, 2026 followed by interment at his home in Kanyamwa Kayambo of Ndhiwa Sub-County in Homa Bay County.

Silah lived a life of service, integrity and compassion. He touched many lives through his warmth, generosity, humility and unwavering friendship. Though his sudden departure has left a great void in our hearts, his memories will forever remain with all who knew and loved him.
